Wednesday Wishlist

Some stuff I've had my eye on....

I'm LOVING the outline leaves.  I think they would look totally gorgeous cut in white, and layered on a card.  Or you could do a neat stained glass look with some vellum beneath the die cut.  These are lovely!

Speaking of leaf dies, have you seen this yet? It's technically not on my wishlist since I just got it :)  Can't wait to use it, because it is incredible!!

This is one of the Simon Says Stamp exclusive products.  I really love the cute sentiments, and maybe it would encourage me to actually send the cards that I make. Do any of you have trouble with that too?

Not sure if feathers are still "in," but these are high on my wishlist!  I love that you can stamp the tops in a different color for a dipped look.

I don't really do the mustache thing, but this little guy and the sentiment totally crack me up!  Plus it wouldn't work without the 'stache.  Bonus: designed by my GI12 pal Erin Schreiner.

Envelopes
I totally need lots of white envelopes for Christmas cards!  Cheap, but nice.  Where do you get your envelopes?  Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

What's on your wishlist this week?

ABNH Guest, Week 3

This week, the challenge at A Blog Named Hero is for the guest designers to make a home decor item.  I made a little pair of candles - one cute and one elegant:

Holiday Card Workshop

You may already know that I am a guest instructor for the Holiday Card Workshop at Online Card Classes. What you may not know, however, is that my favorite thing about teaching is that I get to take the class as a participant too!

On Day 2, Debby Hughes made a lovely card with die cutting and embossing paste. I've been wanting to give it a try for a few weeks, but never could remember to buy the stuff. So last night, I was crafting at Jingle's, and she had some gorgeous pearly embossing paste! Score!!

Wednesday Wishlist

It's baaaaaack!  Hopefully I keep up with this longer than a month or two.  I miss doing the weekly wishlist posts!

Isn't this just the cutest font? I would totally die cut these from some glitter paper, or die cut a bunch of layers from cardstock and stack them on top of each other to make DIY Thickers!  Love.

I've seen crafters use this in videos.  It looks like a helpful tool, although I'd be worried about the booger at the end getting dusty or gross.  Does anyone have experience with this tool? Please let me know if you like it!

Ahh yes, the quest for the *perfect* black cardstock continues.  I wasn't a big fan of the Stampin' Up black- it was nice and dark, but the edges were a bit rough and scraggly.   I recently bought some PTI black, and I like it better, but I'm not sure if it would be my fave.  I've heard good things about the Bazzill, so I think I'll give it a try!
(Photo not necessary. It's just a black box, hehe)

You wouldn't know, since I have not used it yet, but I purchased the Fresh Cut Florals set a few weeks ago.  I felt like it was the "in" set for awhile, and everyone quickly jumped on that bandwagon.  I resisted, partly because I didn't want to succumb to the peer pressure, but also because it was sold out everywhere!  I finally caved (I think I gave enough time for the hype to die down, lol), and it is most definitely a beautifully designed set!  The only problem?  I didn't buy the dies.  Bummer :(

I kind of just love this!

Someone just recently said they love this paper pad.  Was it Jocelyn Olson?  I forgot.  Well anyway, whoever it was is totally right.  This paper rocks!  And it's designed by Allison Kreft- I always love her stuff.

Yeah, Allison Kreft designed this too.  Isn't it sweet?! Fontalicious.

What's on your wishlist this week? (and are you happy I resurrected the wishlist posts?)

Good morning!  Today there is a lovely new inspiration up at the Runway Inspired Challenge.  Sadly, it's Wida's last challenge, and I wanted to wish her a sweet goodbye!  Please check out my post over on the challenge blog, and make sure to click on over to Wida's blog to see what she made!

My project was just begging to be watercolored, so I went the artsy fartsy route :)

I die cut the tag, and stamped the bells in some grey ink.  I wasn't sure if painting on top of it would make the ink bleed, so I stamped again directly on top with VersaMark, then heat set some clear embossing powder on top.  It looks very pretty in person!  I die cut the little label, stamped the sentiment in black, then followed the steps to stamp the bell (to line up with the one on the tag).

Next, I quickly watercolored the whole thing, making sure to add some fun splatter.  The rest is pretty self-explanatory :)

That's it for me today.  I hope you choose to play along!
