Shannon at the Paper Made Bakery sent the design team supplies from their November kit.  It was a lot of fun to create with it- I've never used a kit until now.

I was inspired by the stripe pattern in the dress on the right:  

On the computer, this card kind of looks like one of those optical illusions or vision tests or something- I promise it's a lot easier on the eyes in real life! :)

yep- another Christmas card!

Good morning!  I'm so excited that today I'm meeting up with some local crafty gals for a shoebox swap of holiday cards and tags.  I'll probably post about it later this week, and show you guys the card I'm sharing with them today :)

Before I go, I quickly wanted to show you a card I made this morning.  I used a glitter technique that I learned from the queen of everything, Julie Ebersole.  I'm sad I didn't have the amazingly fine glitter she used, but I worked with what I had.  It still came out cool, but I'm definitely putting her glitter into my next stamping order!

My friend Andrea (who I teach with) wanted me to make her some thank you cards that her son can give to his daycare teachers.  Here's one of the ones I made for her:

I bought that Air Vent die a few weeks ago, and have not used it until now!  I really like the look (and I added a light grey panel on the inside not only for contrast, but so when she fills it out she knows not to write below the white part) - the only problem was that I couldn't get it to cut all the way through in the center.  Other than adding a shim (which I tried), do you have any tips?

I'm entering this to the Moxie Fab World's alphabet stickers challenge. :)

New CSS Colors!!

Hooray! Exciting news from Clear and Simple Stamps:

• Clear and Simple Stamps has made the choice to "go green" and revitalize the CSS current color line. You will see a few new colors and some vintage colors no longer being offered, in an effort to provide product made from renewable contents. All of the color coordinated products are made in the USA. The paper comes from mills that practice responsible, sustainable forestry while manufacturing the highest quality paper products on the market. These mills are powered by renewable energy sources, and our paper products are made of 100% recycled content with 30% PCW (post-consumer waste). We are very pleased to announce our commitment to incorporate environmental practices into our daily crafting.

This means coordinating ink, refills, cardstock, envelopes, and gift wrap!  They are even releasing envelope liner dies (A2 and A4) to match.

I am a HUGE fan of the new color "I Steel Got It"...it is the perfect grey.  Using the new gift wrap and cardstock, I wrapped up a present and made a matching card:

You would not believe how long it took me to figure out how to make a Christmas tree shape out of all the jars!  I think I have about 8 crumpled up pieces of scrap paper in my trash with different configurations!  After all of the trial and error, I'm really happy with how it came out.  I embossed them in white to contrast with the beautiful grey color.

Bonus project!
I was so excited when I got my sampler pack of the new CSS colors that I immediately made a color swatch key ring!  I've got it on a little hook next to my desk so it is always nearby :)

sweet Christmas wishes

I have been spending A LOT of time this weekend trying to organize the craft room. It had gotten out of control, and I'm hoping to be able to create with a clean desk soon!

I made this circle card using a Hero Arts stamp I got a loooong time ago, and never inked up:

The red circular card base and centered sentiment were inspired by Kristina's Day 9 holiday card.  Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

Party time!

Good morning! Today we are party hopping for Clear and Simple Stamps.  I used some goodies from the most recent release to create this party set:

I LOVE that jewel-toned clothes always come back in style in the fall, so I used those colors as inspiration.  I updated it with some fun glitter too- this would be a great ensemble for a stylish Autumn get together!

Above you can see the invite and matching envelope, and below is a set of place cards. They could also be used to label food on a buffet spread.

..and last but not least, the favor.  The perfect size for a Godiva truffle!
