One Layer Birthday

For OLW8, the challenge was to mask a background. I have never played along with them before, I have never masked a background, and I have never made a one layer card!! I knew this was going to be a challenge.

I'm pretty happy with the result. I masked the bird image, then inked it in silver, and added some black floral stamping. After stamping the sentiment, I was wishing that I could add a ribbon, but if I did, it wouldn't be one layer anymore, would it? I cheated by drawing the ribbon on with a marker.

  5. WOW! What a beautiful card! No one would know it was a first effort if you had told, LOL! And you can add a ribbon if necessary for your design. One-layer cards are just one layer of cardstock. You can add other things if absolutely necessary for your design. But I love your hand-drawn bow!
