EBTKS 23

Today's card is for EBTKS.  I've been spending lots of time trying to post this, because blogger has a new post tool that is not quite working for me!

The inspiration for the sketch below came from a PS3- I like how simple it is.
If you turn your head to the left, this is how I saw it for my card.

my font in a movie!

Back in January, I found a website that makes a font from your handwriting (I don't remember which one it was, but if you do a google search, there are plenty of them). I quickly filled in the boxes for each letter and scanned it in, resulting in a font I called Jenny.

Since I have made it, I have received requests from a few people, mostly overseas, asking to purchase commercial rights to use my font-the most interesting of which was a movie production company! They wanted to use it for an upcoming film called "Lifted." I just recently found a website/poster online, and here's the link!

Yep, there it is! My lil' old font! :)

15 min card

Today's card is for this week's OTWC challenge. If you've noticed from my past pics, I prefer to photograph outside...probably since I havn't quite figured out how to do it indoors yet.

I knew that with summer coming to a close, I'd quickly run out of precious daylight, so at around 6:00pm it was a race against the sun to finish this card. I managed to pull it together in around 15 min, then rushed outside to take the pictures....and the sun had already gone below the trees!! AUGH!

I had to settle on taking it indoors on my leather chair. I hope it's okay!

If anyone has some indoor photography tricks, please let me know.

OLW 3+1

Good morning! Last night I made a card for this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge. The task was to include 3 images and one sentiment. I just got this chandelier stamp from Lawn Fawn in the mail yesterday, so I was excited to use it!

I made the color block on the bottom by masking off that section and inking it with a beautiful blue-green. The rest is just stamping and 3 rhinestones to finish off the look.

Any opinions on the shoe? Not sure if I should paint more shoes....

If you'd like to enter my giveaway, leave a comment on this post.

I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone with this one, using the sketch from 2S4Y. Layout-wise, I felt pretty good about it, but I chose to use colors that I would never really typically pick. I am more a fan of bright/modern colors than of muted ones. I was questioning myself the whole time while I made it this morning!

I hope that in the end, the colors ended up working....

OTWC 24

Above is this week's inspiration from Off the Wall Craftiness. I always love what Kim chooses for each challenge! I also wanted to incorporate a sketch from c&s.

I stamped the woodgrain with Versamark Watermark ink onto the navy cardstock. The tree was hand-cut from white, with punched holes and mounted onto the coral-y color.

LOVE

Despite what the title of this post says, I'm not in LOVE with this card. I like the idea/concept, but something got lost along the way with my execution. Regardless, I felt like sharing! Here it is:

Welcoming Baby

Above is this week's sketch from Mojo Monday. I feel like their sketches always include circles, and I never know what to do with them! Luckily, the challenge this week from the create: blog is to make a card using accordion flowers. I whipped out my issue of CARDs magazine with the tutorial, and got to work, using patterned vellum. It was VERY hard to work with! When I scored it the first time to make the pleats, I ended up cracking through the vellum. (I was a lot more careful the 2nd time around). Here it is on my card:

I only wish my machine stitching came out a little straighter along the top. Oh well!

2S4Y- Celebrate With Style

(to get to the post for my giveaway and to enter, click here)

Ooooh...What a fun sketch from Laura at 2S4Y! I was really excited to use a new stamp, "celebrate with style." I figured an elegant font like that required an elegant card, so I kept the colors simple, and used a subdued patterned paper. Here's what I came up with:

Thanks for checking it out!
