PTI blog hop

This is my 2nd post of the day...scroll down to see the card I made last night!

Today is PTI's September blog hop, and I was so happy to have the time to join in after work!

Since it is a fabric/felt challenge, I'm sharing a pouch I sewed and a matching tag (using the same fabric).  I'm not sure what kind of gift you could put in here, but jewelry or a small trinket would be perfect!

I love this fabric- I got it a while ago at Joann's, and it was pretty inexpensive.  Whenever I go to a store that sells fabric, I end up leaving with single yards of a few different prints.  I hoard collect save them for future projects.  Usually a yard is all you need for a pouch, small purse, or a hair accessory.  I have 2 huge bins with random bits of fabric- I love it!

I can't believe I'm bringing this to your attention, but do you see that smudge on the lower right-hand side of the tag?  I accidentally dropped a glob of glue there, and as I was trying to wipe it off it ended up getting dirty.  I thought erasing it might help, but it didn't.  Any tips?

I think that the leaf motif is just perfect for the current CAS-ual Fridays Fall-Themed Challenge.  (oh yea- anyone visiting from the CAS-ual Fridays DT can ignore the above paragraph where I admit that I screwed up the tag. lol!)

Thanks so much for visiting!

  1. Beautiful! Love the fabric too. Know what you mean about fabric collection. Kinda like paper collecting!

  2. This is perfect. I love how you used the fabric on the tag, and don't worry about the smudge. Only you will see it. I am always so impressed with anyone who can sew.

  4. Stunning projects! Love them both--even with the glue smudge! [I would have suggested the eraser--so no help from me, sorry]

  5. I definitely would have never noticed the smudge unless you pointed it out...I don't have any advice, but if you get any that works, please share it with me! I'd like to know, too :) So the pouch is adorable! I love that you also used the fabric on the tag! And I'm liking that sentiment, too...I don't remember that one...hummm

  9. Staples brand Erasers are the best. A clean one will get rid of smudges like that, so be sure to wear down the eraser on some white cardstock first. I don't think anything else has worked for me. Good luck! And beautiful work on this set!

  14. Love your pouch and how you added leaves from the fabric for the tag. I would have had a really hard time leaving the store without a cut of fabric like this one. The more a look at it the more I love your pouch and that fabric.

  16. So gorgeous! I have a small mountain of fabric building up too!! ;) As for the smudge - which I would never have noticed - I think Crafters Companion do a spray called 'Stick Away' for that kind of thing, I haven't tried it though.

  17. So pretty. Everthing complements each other, the color, the tag, the design. Im keeping stash of fabrics too and may need to do some digging to create something out of it as a gift. I'll match the same with a tag. Thanks for sharing.

  20. SO beautiful, Jennifer! Love your inspired tag! I am a klutz when it comes to spilling accidents. (you can say I am PRO at this). I always have some white pen or white acrylic Dabber ( The Rangers paint Dabber) will work well as it gives a white wash look--> make it look like Hampton style!!?). It works for me!http://eclecticpaperie.com/adacpadasnca.html
anyhow so glad that you played with us at CAS-ual Fridays!

  23. Gorgeous. I'm drooling over here Jen! For smudges of glue, let it dry completely and THEN erase with a white eraser. If that doesn't work then "distress" the edges of the tag with a darker grey ink, or a white one to lessen the notice-ablility (is that even a word?)!
So glad you joined us for CAS-ual Fridays this week:)
