Gradient Glitter Tutorial Video

Sometimes I love sharing my professional side, and sometimes I love to share when I make mistakes.  This is kind of both!!

I made a technique video which resulted in a color theory faux pas (I thought that I could be bold with my color choices, but that decision came around to bite me in the butt!).  Instead of re-shooting, I'm showing you the original video.  Maybe it'll help you realize that everyone makes mistakes, but hopefully you'll still leave having learned a trick or two.

Watch the video below, or in HD on YouTube

Here's the new and improved card....you'll have to watch the video to see the dud!! :)

  1. I seriously love your videos. They are so fun and you explain things so well. When you did the pointing and the original card appeared I clapped and giggled like a kid. You are awesome, and your card is totally awesome too. :-)

BTW I miss the 'Awesome video' screen at the beginning!!

  4. Burnishing with glitter would be one of my favourite techniques. There's nothing wrong with the card on your video, it can be salvaged! Thanks for enabling Jennifer!

  5. Thank you so much for showing how to do this. I love the idea and I too have all those wonderful glitters from Martha Stewart. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has colour ideas that dont work so perfectly but the good thing is there is always a way to use something that didnt quite work at first. Never throw anything away either.

  12. I love your card, but I love your "dud" more. I REALLY like being able to see that someone as brilliant and talented as yourself can and does make mistakes... or at least makes things that they don't really like! I don't think the first card is bad, but I definitely like your second take! Great job :)

  17. Your videos are amazing!! You are such a natural! I wish I could keep scrap papers (like your printer paper) like you do...I throw them away left and right!
By the way, I think we have the same glitter set. I too bought it on sale, and it was a huge pack.
one last thing, I thought your card in the video looked pretty cool, and as you said, if you hide the splotchy area with a sentiment, it would look fine. The pink to white area looked great!
