Happy Birthday

My lovely sister-in-law's birthday is coming up (Melissa, hopefully you don't read this post before you get the card! haha), and I wanted to create a soft and delicate background.

To do this, I inked up an embossing folder with pigment ink before running it through the die cutter.  I was disappointed at first that the ink didn't transfer evenly, but as I started to work with the panel it really grew on me!  It looks really cool in person.

The sentiment, from Hero Arts, was stamped in black ink onto a doily die cut, and I added some embroidery floss at an angle to draw your eye toward it.  The little heart was adhered with foam tape, and it has some Wink of Stella on it for added sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Fun. I've done that before and always love the way it looks, thanks for the reminder to get inky again (okay, never mind, I get inky often, but you know what I mean).
