Heart 'n' Buttons

For this card, I took the sketch from 2S4Y pretty literally, and cut the heart out with my xacto knife. I was really excited to incorporate buttons as well, so it fits with the theme from EBTKS (One of my favorite challenge blogs!). I'm not sure if I can submit more than one card to them, but I hope so, because I just got new buttons and I'm looking forward to using them on more cards!

cQc #42- Thank You

At first, I wasn't too excited about the colors for this week's colourQ challenge. That is, until I went through my paper stash, and found a bunch of different patterns in this color scheme. I wanted to use them all, so I hand-cut the leaf shapes, and erratically sewed them on. I like how clean and graphic this card came out, so I'm also submitting it to the Moxie Fab World card style challenge.

OTWC #16

As always, OTWC has beautiful inspiration for this week's challenge. Using the pink, grey, and white colors, I made a wedding card, and tried to replicate the flowers found in the center of the inspiration photo. Here's the result:

DeNami Sketch Challenge

I think I have mentioned before my intense need to save every last scrap or bit of paper I come in contact with. Here is more proof....the negative image of the deer seen below is from this card I posted on June 3. It has been waiting to be used for almost 2 months! And that's not the worst of it- I've got other scraps on my desk that I know must be over a year old.

This card is for the DeNami sketch challenge #3.

Dark Knight

I hope my brother doesn't read this post (this card is for his birthday!)....

I thought it would be really cool to make him a comic themed card. He loves the Batman graphic novels and movies, so it seemed a perfect choice! I die cut the silhouette from a Batman font, and the rest is pretty self explanatory.

I'm submitting this card to the Moxie Fab World's card style challenge, for "clean and graphic." I realllllly hope this counts towards that style- it definitely seems clean and graphic to me!

Oh yea, one more thing: the layout is from CPS:

More Birthday

Today has certainly been a crafty day! (much like last time I went on vacation, I tried to craft as much as possible on the days leading up to when I left...this time, we're going to Cape Cod for a week, starting this coming Saturday). This card was really quick and simple to make, and I think the bold colors help keep it interesting.
Again, as this is a birthday card, I'll be submitting it to Caardvarks.

Paint Sample

Don't you just love taking paint samples from the hardware store? There are so many ways to craft with them! Here, I made a clean and graphic card (Moxie Fab World), and kept everything really simple to let the pretty blocks of color speak for themselves.

It's really tough to see in the pic, but the white cardstock strip is textured with embossed dots. The layout inspiration came from clean&simple, and since this is a b-day card, I'm also submitting it to Caardvarks.

Pinwheels 2

I'm really excited about today's card. I used the above sketch from 2S4Y, but flipped it upside down. The pinwheels were really easy to make out of some patterned paper, and I glued really tiny black buttons in the center (sorry if it's hard to see in the pic!). The pinwheel sticks are embroidered, and I heat embossed the sentiment. Hope you like it!

To me, this card is "fun and cute," so I will also be submitting it to the Moxie Fab World card style challenge!

Pinwheels 1

Pinwheels are so cute for summer! Last night I made a card in the Fun and Cute style (for Moxie Fab World), and since it is a birthday card, I am also entering it into the Caardvark's July challenge.I couldn't decide between cream and white for the background, but I really like how the cream softens the color palette. I embroidered the pinwheel "sticks," and added rhinestones to the center of each. This week's challenge at the CARDs blog is to use pinwheels, so I'm submitting there as well!

Fun and Cute!

Here's another submission for a Moxie Fab World challenge, but this time it is in the Fun and Cute card style. I am also submitting it to Caardvark's bday card challenge. I made the notebook paper by sewing the blue and red lines onto white cardstock. For the sentiment, I just took out a marker and hand-wrote it...no need for perfection! Lastly, I stuck it on with foam adhesive for dimension.

Classy & Elegant

This was such a fun card to make! I think I have mentioned before how much I love embroidery on cards. It's fun, relatively simple, and embroidery floss is cheap! It also comes in every imaginable color. I made this card for the Moxie Fab World's Card Style Week challenge. I think this card embodies classy and elegant! The colors are very rich, and I got them from this week's cQc #41:

I'm sure you can now see where I got the inspiration for my card, right down to the pink rhinestones!

Let's do Clean and Graphic

This past week was Card Style Week, so I decided to make a card in my own preferred style- clean and graphic. The challenge runs through until Aug 2 at the Moxie Fab World blog, and I plan on submitting cards in other styles as well!

I kept the layout and sentiment really simple so that the patterned paper stands out. I hope you like it!
