The card says "for you," which I know implies that I'm giving this to someone. But nope- I'm Jenny, so I'm keeping it for myself! (did you know that in high school I went by "Jenny?" My close friends still call me that, even though now I just go by "Jen")
I tried out a faux letterpress technique by inkin up a woodgrain imprint plate- it definitely looks cooler in real life than in the photo.
To make the mug, I stamped each letter individually with Staz-on ink. Does anyone have any experience with using it on porcelain? The ink dried easily, but I can still scrape it off. I think I'm going to throw it in the oven in an attempt to heat-set it, but if that doesn't work I'll just use it on my desk for pens/pencils instead of for drinking. Either way it's cute! The curve of the mug was difficult to stamp on, so I intentionally stamped the letters in an arc. If I attempted a straight line, any slight misalignment would be painstakingly obvious!

ReplyDeleteI totally {heart} this! An awesome font and that mug is so cool! I hope you find a way to make that ink permanent as it needs to be used!! Love the pop of woodgrain on your card, the colours are unconventional but it really works!!
