Hey there! I'm just popping in to share my card for the current Runway Inspired Challenge.

source: style.com

The birds in her dress got me thinking about Escher's Day and Night:

So I went ahead and designed a file for my digital die cutter, and here's the result:

Yes, for the second time in a row I was a rebel and didn't use the colors in the inspiration photo- remember, you can be inspired in any way and matching colors is not necessary :)

The background was watercolored onto smooth bristol, and each little die cut piece was adhered on top with foam tape (in the close-up shot above, you can see underneath the birds to the foam).  I kept the sentiment nice and simple, so it wouldn't compete with the rest of the card.

Please check out the rest of the DT!

  8. I'm breaking a rule here, but this time I have to say something. I'm a fan of Escher from the moment I saw one of his works about 4 or 5 years ago, and when I saw your card I said to myself "this looks inspired by Escher"... because it was - duh! :). I just didn't know how you have made it... this is beyond amazing, I don't have the right words...
