Oh yeah- one more thing!  Online Card Classes is having a flash sale this weekend!  This is the first time OCC has done this, and you have no idea when it will happen again- so take advantage while you can!  It's a great opportunity to try out some of the classes you may have missed! Here are my favorites:

  • Watercolor for Card Makers - my absolute favorite because I was a headlining teacher alongside Jennifer and Kristina!
  • Insider - super clever ideas for making the inside of your card as important as the outside!
  • Pattern Play - patterned paper freaks me out a bit, and this class helped me get more comfortable with it!

Although those are my faves, they are all amazing!

a wedding card (and video!)

Hey guys!  Today I'm sharing a card I made for my friend's wedding.  I like that it's a little unconventional- bold colors and no real sentiment- but I think she and her husband will love it!

You can view the video below, or in HD on YouTube!

Happy Birthday

My lovely sister-in-law's birthday is coming up (Melissa, hopefully you don't read this post before you get the card! haha), and I wanted to create a soft and delicate background.

To do this, I inked up an embossing folder with pigment ink before running it through the die cutter.  I was disappointed at first that the ink didn't transfer evenly, but as I started to work with the panel it really grew on me!  It looks really cool in person.

The sentiment, from Hero Arts, was stamped in black ink onto a doily die cut, and I added some embroidery floss at an angle to draw your eye toward it.  The little heart was adhered with foam tape, and it has some Wink of Stella on it for added sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by!

Yay, Runway Inspired Challenge time! Check out this lovely pastel dress:

I was inspired by those sweet colors, as well as the seams in the top half of the dress, and the layers on the bottom half.  Here's what I made:

I used one of my favorite dies from Lil' Inker to cut the white cardstock, then stamped over it with a few different leaf stamps from Hero Arts.  I wanted them to blend a bit into the background, so I misted my stamp with water before pressing down to the paper.  It didn't blend as much as I intended, but I still like the look!

The sentiment and flower are from Altenew...did you see the new release yet? :)

It's also a bit tough to tell in the photo, but "you are a true" was stamped onto vellum, to add a bit more softness.  Please visit the rest of the DT, and play along
