Tuesday Trigger

Sorry I've been MIA for awhile!  PAX East was this weekend, and of course my husband and I were cosplaying.  This whole week has been a crazy, mad dash to finish up all of the details, so sadly papercrafting took a backseat to that.  Expect to see a PAX post sometime this week or early next, as well as more cards!

Today I'm squeezing in an entry to this week's Tuesday Trigger, an interesting and beautiful dress from Giambattista Valli.  I used some patterned paper- I've been so inspired by the Pattern Play class I was taking/guest designing for!  I made some layered butterfly embellishments (a la Betsy Veldmen) by cutting each part from a sheet of paper from the Margarita Collection by American Crafts.   I played around with foam and regular adhesive for a multi-layered look:

Lastly, I was inspired to paint the dress too!  I added gold glitter for her snake belt, and a punched paper butterfly on her face like the photo (accented with glitter as well)

Thanks for stopping by!

  9. I have to ask: is that yummy paper from our Gallery Idol 2011 prize package? I have something very similar sitting on my shelf and I'd be comforted in knowing it's not only me who still has it after all of this time! LOL!
Anyways I really wanted to comment to tell you how awesome your take on the trigger is. That painting is beyond amazing!
