Good morning! We've got another fantastic challenge for you again this week at Our Creative Corner! The challenge, from Sarah Gough, is to use a sentiment stamp (stamped repeatedly) to create a background or layer for your project.
I chose a bold and simple "thank you" stamp for my background. The main sentiment is embossed in white, and the others were stamped with my VersaMark pad (gotta love it!)
I finished off the front panel with embossed flowers. If you choose to do this, you must wait for the watermark ink to dry first, which takes some time-hit that baby with the heat gun to speed things along! Once I thought it was dry, I stamped the flowers and poured on the black powder, and still had a few stray morsels (is that the right word? particles? molecules?!) of embossing powder stuck to the Thank Yous. I just brushed them off with a paintbrush- no biggie.
Other elements in my card include the scoring on the white cardstock, and my looped/twisted ribbon. I love doing that to my satin ribbons, like in this card. This one too.
So get out those sentiments and play along!
Jennifer, I think your card is simply elegant! And thank you for the tip on allowing the versa mark to dry before embossing. I really like the looped ribbon. What a clever idea! It really does give the card added interest and elegance!
ReplyDeleteThis is just cool, Jen - I love how you did the stamped background under the embossing. Brilliant! And your ribbon is awesome - I always like seeing new ribbon treatments! Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Jen! The colors you worked with are wonderful. I really like the effect of the word stamp with only the one in white and the rest watermarked. That bold black flower stamp is gorgeous against the turquoise. Super job on this week's challenge!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend.
Hugs,
Linda
What a bold, graphic, yet soft card! Wonderful effect of the black over the turqoise with the white word. Really catching!
ReplyDeleteJen, this is drop-dead gorgeous. You so rocked it! I LOVE the one embossed look, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteParticles is good but I just call em 'bits'! Hee Hee!! You are too funny! I love this card, the bold blue just pops! BTW, the way you made that plaid for your duck is genius!
