Who....me?!?

I am in shock. I woke up early this morning to practice my conducting assignment (mid-term is today!), and I casually checked the Paper Crafts blog. I was excited to see the finalists for Gallery Idol.

As I anxiously scrolled through the amazingly fabulous cards, I got to #17, and what did I see?

My card! Yes...my little card. I still can't believe it. How is my work up there with Cristina's, Sarah's, Laurie's, Amber's, and the other wonderful creations?

Now I need to figure out what to make for the first round...do-it-yourself embellishments. Wish me luck!

happy anniversary tag

Today is the last DT Wednesday at SP and Company before our next stamp release blog hop starting the 7th!

I made a cute anniversary tag using the Kokimo background stamp and a polymer clay flower.

(by the way, that sentiment is from the new my thoughts exactly release!)

Here's what the Kokimo background stamp looks like:
I'm also linking this up for the Moxie Fab World's Beautiful Borders challenge. Come back soon for our July release blog hop!

you are SUPER

I'm happy I was able to squeeze in a quick card today amongst all of my homework. This one is for CAS-ual Friday's krafts-men challenge.

I went with a comic book theme, and printed a Superman outline onto kraft cardstock. The "SUPER!" is from a stamp set I got a few weeks ago, and haven't used until today.

Quick and easy, bold and graphic- just my style!

Tuesday Trigger- Stamp it Cards

--Young Crafters Unite hop is here--
--My Thoughts Exactly new stamp release hop is here--

Above is the inspiration photo for this week's Tuesday Trigger, from the pages of Stamp It! Cards. I was excited when I realized I have the same stamp set, so I composed a little scene with the chair and vase.

Since this card is mostly stamping, I'm also submitting it for the Stamp It! Cards challenge.

OCC Seasonal Celebration

--Young Crafters Unite hop is here--
--My Thoughts Exactly new stamp release hop is here--

Good morning! This week, Sarah has a fun challenge lined up at Our Creative Corner- make either a 4th of July project or a Christmas in July project. I went with a 4th of July theme:

For the "fireworks," I used this stamp set and embossed them with my neglected glitter embossing powder (I almost never use it because glitter is the absolute worst craft product in the world to clean up)

My sentiment placement was inspired by Jill Foster's featured card at CASE Study, and my patriotic colors work for OTWC.

The DT has some really fun samples this week- I hope you go over and check them out at Our Creative Corner!

Young Crafters Unite!

(Looking for the My Thoughts Exactly release hop? Scroll down to my previous post!)

Today is the Young Crafters Unite blog hop! If you came here from KIM HUGHES, you are on the right track. The hop "officially" starts at noon CST, so head on over to Young Crafters Unite to start at the beginning.

I was so excited when I saw that Britta and Marie were hosting this event- like them, I am a crafter in my 20s, which seems to be a bit rare in this industry!

For me, my age, attitude, and style make me a "young crafter." I only hope that as I get older, I continue to think and act young!!

My project below exemplifies the hop theme of "favorite things." Here's the rundown:
1. Embroidery Floss. You know it, I know it- it's definitely a favorite of mine!
2. White. (and white on white....even better!)
3. CAS (that goes with the above, huh?)
4. DT/Challenges. Pretty much all the cards I make are for the DTs I am on, or for challenges!! This one is for the amazing OTWC challenge, and uses a new stamp ("wishing you a") from MTE :)
(sorry for all of the acronyms....)

Please hop along and comment. The list is long, but I guarantee you will be inspired, and you'll have the chance to win some awesome prizes.

Next stop is STEPHANIE. Have fun!!

My Thoughts Exactly blog hop

A craft blog for scrapbookers and stampers alike

Hey there! I'm so excited to announce that today is the first stamp release blog hop for My Thoughts Exactly stamps! Hopefully you arrived via Bee's blog.

I've really enjoyed getting to know Alyssa and Brian (the owners) these past few weeks, as well as the amazing members of the DT! I wanted to be a part of the MTE team because I love to support small businesses, and I just adore Alyssa's style and talent.

There are 2 stamp sets being released this month. Both are wonderfully versatile mix-and-match sentiment sets. And get this...they are punny! I love a good cheesy pun :)

For my card, I went with the sentiment "woo-HOO!"- paired with an owl, of course! I love the cute size of these sentiments...perfect as the main sentiment, or in the case of my card today, as a little unexpected surprise. I did some faux stitching with a pen around the owl and leaves, and adhered the whole front panel with foam tape for dimension.

Isn't that sentiment cute!?! Below is the set I used today, which you can purchase here. You can also check out both new release stamps by heading over to the My Thoughts Exactly shop.

Please come back later today...I have another post coming up that also uses a sentiment from My Thoughts Exactly!

Up next is the wonderful Jessica. Happy hopping!
