inspiration from the card aisle

Laurie from Soapbox Creations had a great idea- to use a card from the "card aisle" (supermarket, drug store, etc) as inspiration for a handmade card.

Below is a card I received from a friend recently. I love the flourishes and the simplicity of the card.

And here is the card I made:

I kept most of the card the same- just added some extra layers, some leftover flowers I had from this card (with embroidered french knot centers), and changed the color scheme. Hope you all had a great weekend!

  1. This is so beautiful. Love the clean and uncluttered design with that wonderful sense of movement to your card.

  2. This is gorgeous and way more beautiful than the original.

  3. WOW! I love your take on the card aisle card! So pretty! I am so glad you played along with my challenge!

  4. I love your card. Soooo much better than the original! What's the stamp you used for your sentiment?

  5. Christina- (I couldn't find your email to write back to you) The stamp set I used for the sentiment is from Inkadinkado. Here's the link
