I just love it when everything comes together on a card the way I imagined it. Today's card was one of those.

I don't remember how, but a blogger a follow linked to a challenge I had never heard of, For Your Inspiration. Not sure if I'll be playing along regularly, but I do love this week's inspiration photo:

I have no papercrafting products that have hot-air balloons on them. So I started thinking about helium balloons....

Not sure where that would take me, I remembered Laurie's Pinterest challenge. So I popped on over, and searched for "girl holding balloons." I found this amazing image- by graffiti artist Banksy:

(by the way, Dave has been bugging me for months to watch "Exit Through the Gift Shop"- he loved it!)

Pair the fun stripes and colors from the first image with the girl from the second, and you get this:

The frame, girl, and balloons are all popped up with foam tape, and I made the strings of the balloons with pieces of thread all glued in place. My sentiment is from SP and Co- Mini Card Creations II.

I'm hoping I didn't CAS-ify this one too much. I've been loving Sarah Martina Parker's featured cards at CASE Study, and this is the last week they are having her as the muse.

Although I completely changed the colors, most of the layout is the same. I recently got some new ink in a gradient of colors, so I was excited to use them in this card!

I apologize in advance for yucky photos. I LOVE cards with lots of white in them, but can't figure out how to take pictures of them (what's with all the grey floating around? Everything was white in real life, I promise!). I was inspired by the colors of the Totally Hues challenge.

OCC Beautiful Baby

Good morning! This week the wonderful Sharon is the hostess at Our Creative Corner. The theme is "Beautiful Baby," but there are a few rules. You must use kraft cardstock, decorative trim (lace, ribbon, crochet trim, etc), and at least one button.

My card is intended for a boy, so most trims like lace and crochet are a little too girly. I went with embroidery floss threaded through my button.

I'm here for the SP and Company DT Wed! As you probably already knew, I've been working with the Round Sentiments this month. You can find the set in the shop here.

I actually made this card for Paper Crafts Card-a-Day call. Sadly, this one was not picked up (but I did have one that was, as well as a card in the Nov/Dec issue!!)

Even though it wasn't accepted, I hope this card will be loved on Amber's Reject Blog Hop! Like most of my cards, this one is CAS, and I really like how it turned out. I used some more of my polymer clay flowers, and stitched the stems with green thread. The round "Love" sentiment was perfect to go around the tallest flower!

Bring the Bling

This card is for CAS-ual Friday's 3rd challenge, Bring the Bling.

I brought it all right.

This card has more rhinestones on it than all of my other cards put together (well, that might be an exaggeration....but you get the idea). I'm not a very blingy girl. I actually don't even like the word bling!

But I do have to admit- I love how this card turned out:

Cheap and quick to make too! I won the clear rhinestone frame (Nestabling) from Scrap-mart, the colored rhinestones were in a pack that I got for $1 at the craft store (I used less than half of them on the card), and the sentiment stamp came from Michael's- also $1.

Thinking of You...

Ok, I'm back for just one more card today....

I made this for the CASE Study challenge, and used the colors for the current Color Cue. Although the yellow was optional, I knew I wanted to keep it in the color scheme!

Polka Dot Frenzy!

The current challenge at Lawnscaping is called "Polka Dot Frenzy," and I wanted to use my "Partly Cloudy" set in a new way. Since the umbrella is a solid image, I inked up the stamp, then pressed a polka dot stamp on top to remove some of the ink (I'm sure there is a name for this technique, I just don't know what it is!)

Although I wouldn't say I have a "frenzy" of polka dots, I do like the look. I also used the cloud stamp to add texture to the background. I stamped first onto a piece of cardstock, and adhered 2 more scraps of cardstock behind it. I cut out around the stamped image (all 3 layers so it was really thick), and using my embossing mat I was able to deboss the Lawn Fawn cloud!

The effect is subtle, and was a pain to photograph. On the last pic, I bumped up the contrast so you can see the debossing better.

I'm back this morning for 2 challenges....colourQ and the Moxie Fab World's Chevron Chic. Guess what I made my chevron pattern with...

Yep- embroidery floss! Am I a one-trick pony or what?!

I first drew the chevron pattern with pencil. To make a point with as little waste of the floss as possible, I made a French knot on the backside so I could come back up through the same hole. Here's what the back looked like before I adhered it to the card (warning- not pretty!):
