Hello again! Today is DT Wednesday for SP and Co, and it is our last one before the new September release! I really hope you join us for the festivities starting the 7th.

I combined the Sewing Chic stamp set with the sketch for the Moxie Fab World's vertical sketch challenge, as well as CFC17- to use stickers.

The dress form (cut using the SP and Co SVG) and the sentiment are adhered with foam tape. The strip across the card is flocked paper, and the flourishes are flocked stickers (see below)

I have professional development all this week, then school starts next week. I'm already exhausted. Geez...I need to get used to waking up early!

I don't think I've ever done one of their challenges before, but I decided to use the above sketch from the Simon Says Stamp challenge.

For the stripe at the top and bottom, I used a piece of vellum, and for the scalloped edge I used a row of buttons (something I had seen a few times on Britta's blog)

The sentiment is from one of my favorite SP and Co sets, Mini Card Creations II.


I printed the text background on the card, and wish I had made it a bit lighter (more like a watermark)...it's a little bold for my taste which to me makes the card look busy- but I still really like how it came out!

wedding card

Today I was supposed to be in PA for a friend's wedding....but sadly my husband and I chose to stay in MA due to the hurricane making its way up the east coast.

We were really looking forward to seeing them, as it's been about 5 years since we were all together last. I am very disappointed that we can not be there to celebrate with them, but I am happy to share the card I made for Brienne and Nathaniel.

I used the layout from Moxie Fab's horizontal sketch challenge:

I made a card inspired by their wedding invitations. Although printed (beautifully) on cardstock, it looked like a lace overlay on top of a natural-colored fabric.

I used kraft as my card base, and on stitched squares of white lacy fabric. The sentiment was printed in the same font as the one on their invites!

OCC Neutrals with a POP

Happy Saturday! Today our hostess at Our Creative Corner, the wonderful Vicki, has a color challenge! I really love these colors- black, grey, and red- they always look great together!

DT Thursday...yum!

Today is my monthly DT post for My Thoughts Exactly. I'm using the 2 fun stamp sets from the August release, Grillin 'n' Chillin & Sweet Thoughts.

As is the case with all of the sets from My Thoughts Exactly, there are many sentiment possibilities. I decided to make a fun invitation to a bbq:
Even though summer is coming to a close, there are still a few months of grilling to be had!

I had gotten the cupcake/cake patterned paper a while ago, and was stumped on how to use it on my card, until I remembered a fab card Laurie posted a few days ago. Check it out here...it's awesome!

Good morning! Today is another DT Wednesday for SP and Co! The new set this month is Sewing Chic:

My favorite stamps in the set are those dress forms! The card I made for today combines the stamps, the Sewing Chic SVG set, some papers from my GI prize (seriously, those papers have been taking me out of my comfort zone recently, and I love it!), and the sketch below from the Moxie Fab World's challenge.



I had to perform a little stamp surgery (slice and dice, if you will) to get the sentiment I wanted. I cut the "you're" from "you're sew sweet" so I could combine it on my acrylic block with the "sew awesome" stamp. It worked perfectly!

Carbon Copied

Today I'm playing along with Karen Baker and her new blog feature, Carbon Copied! Basically we both make a card for the same challenge using the same stamp set, and post it on the same day at the same time. Wow!

We decided to play along with CPS...check out the sketch below:

The stamp set we chose to use is Furnishing Fun from Schlosser Designs. Here's my card:

You can't really tell from the photos, but I stamped the chair onto patterned paper with Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then all I had to do was carefully cut it out and adhere it on my card with foam tape.

I haven't seen Karen's card yet, and I can't wait! I know it will be amazing...I just love her style. You definitely need to hop on over to her blog, and please leave her a comment!

CASE study....times 4

WARNING- this is a long post....with lots of pictures....

This week at CASE study, the challenge is to CASE none other than the amazing Chupa!

Now...I've been following her blog for awhile, and if you do too you must already know that Chupa posts a lot. And I'm certainly not complaining- everything she makes is amazing! It's not uncommon for her to include many cards in one post....so in honor of that, I decided to CASE 4 of her cards, and post them all at once!

This first card was posted by Chupa here. I just love the pattern, dimension, and the big sentiment.

And here's my take:

(btw, that label shape is from the one of the new SVG sets at SP and Co)
Up next is a fabulous card that she made which was actually a CASE of someone else whose work you already know I love, Cristina.
I love the big bold ferns that Chupa stamped, and since I don't have any big stamps like that, I went with die cuts instead:

This next card is well....perfect!
I kept my version just as clean, although I think my proportions are a bit off (oops!)


Last but not least is this fun and pretty card:

I love the layout, the buttons, and those staples! I also think the yellow and pink look cool together, so I incorporated those colors in to my version as well:
