Mojo Thank You Card

This week's sketch from Mojo Monday is for their monthly contest-I hope I win! It's selected randomly, but there are up to 7 stamp sets that will be given away. I enter these contests all of the time, and the only ones I ever win don't offer prizes. I'm feeling lucky this time...

CPS #170

I'm not so thrilled about how this one came out...I was suffering from severe creativity block. The sketch comes from CPS, and I flipped it upside down for my card.

Embossing Challenge

Caardvark's June challenge is to use embossing on a card. For my submission, I stamped the "celebrate" sentiment in different colored inks, and put clear embossing powder on while it was still wet. I prefer this over using colored powders, because I get a wider range of colors for a cheaper price, and I don't have to be as precise. The little stray molecules of powder that are sometimes left behind are a lot less obvious with clear!

Oh yea- I forgot to mention- I used good ol' colored pencils for the rainbow gradient.

When I saw this week's sketch from 2S4Y, I immediately thought "Pacman!" I'm not really sure why...maybe it was those perfectly aligned dots. Anyway, this is what I made:

The last image is what I printed on the inside of the card- I forgot to take a pic of that.

ColourQ Hello Card

For this week's ColourQ, I spent some time (while watching Futurama!) embroidering a bird on a branch. I always find it so relaxing to embroider. Here's what I came up with:

Today's card is a little bit different for me. Instead of being a conventional card, it's more of a tag. The circular part of the sketch is represented with the ribbon which helps pull out the tag.

Black, White, and Teal

I recently made another cake/box thingy (not sure what to call it!) for my friend's wedding this weekend. Sadly, I will be unable to go, and I've got to figure out some way to mail this without ruining it! I covered the boxes, die cut the letters, and made the paper flower on top. Since the recipients are cellists (and because I'm a dork!) I lined the inside of the boxes with sheet music from the first Bach cello suite. --fyi: the shredded paper inside is the same music!-- You might recognize the butterfly card from this post a few days ago.
