Happy Anniversary

So last month (I think it was last month...) I won some stamps from the Craft's Meow, and have not inked them up until now!  Eek!  The set came with numbers and a very big "happy anniversary."

I just learned that blog pal Erin will be celebrating her 10th anniversary, so I made this with her in mind!  (by the way, Erin, if you email me your address I'll send it to you!)

I used this month's sketch over at TCM.

That's it...quick post today!

Floral card and a sewing project

Hey there folks.  Today I have a card for SP and Company, using one of my favorite sentiment sets- Bold Sentiments.

I have a HUGE stash of patterned paper that I rarely use, so I challenged myself to start using it.  I made this card with the Lily Pad Cards and CAS-ual Fridays challenges in mind :)

And before I go, I wanted to share a sewing project I did.  A friend of mine just had a baby girl, and I wanted to make her something.  I had considered a plush duck, or elephant, or something else appropriate for a baby...... then I stumbled upon a VERY cute Chewbacca pattern.  PERFECT! My friend and her husband are huge Star Wars geeks (who isn't?), and she just loved the gift. It's a bit bigger than her infant daughter, but she'll grow into it :)

(yes, those are our action figures in the background)

PTI March Blog Hop

Hey there,

It's blog hop time at Papertrey Ink, and the inspiration pic is so fun and bright!

Here's my take:

I love how the blue and yellow look together!  This card is actually a re-make of one I made a few days ago for a shoebox swap I went to yesterday (more on that at the bottom of the post)... I used different ribbon and stamped the birds in a different color.

I was so excited to get to meet some fellow crafters yesterday, including fellow Runway Inspired gal Sarah Jay!  Also there was Laura Pryor!  SO much fun to put real-life faces to the profile pics I see online. This was my first ever crafty meet-up, and I am definitely looking forward to the next.  Here's a little pic of the group:

YCU Challenge #8

Before I get to the new challenge, I wanted to let you know that I am being featured today at Fascinating Fridays!

Thank you so much to the lovely Tenia for "nominating" me!!  You are so sweet! :)

This month, Young Crafters Unite is looking for cards with sewing/stitching!

I kept my card pretty simple, because I wanted the design of the overlay (Streets of Paris from Hambly) to be the center of attention:

(Sorry about that weird discoloration at the bottom- it's just glare off of the overlay)

And you can visit the lovely DT to check out what they made:

I hope you find time to play along...you've got a chance at a $25 GC to Simon Says Stamp!

Hambly March Sketch Challenge

I've got a project for this month's sketch challenge at Hambly Screen Prints.  Check it out:

I was so excited to use one of the new honeycomb papers.

It was challenging yet fun to try to get all of the elements from the sketch into my card.  Visit the Hambly blog to get more info on the challenge, and to play along!

a soothing gradient

Wow, Wednesday already?  (I am lying...this is a pre-scheduled post written on Tuesday.  Although when it finally is Wednesday, I imagine that is what I'll be thinking!)

I love DT posts (so much fun to share what I made with new stamps!), and today's project is a card using the Mustache Madness set from SP and Company.

I opened up my blues/greens scrap box (yes, I color-code my scraps into separate containers. Anyone else do that?) and found ones that worked well together.  At first it bothered me that some were smooth, and some were textured, but when I look at it all together, I kind of like the variety.  This card is headed for the Paper Crafts Gallery Challenge, and the Moxie Fab World's Paper Scraps challenge.

Enjoy your day!

Happy Tuesday! Did you know that today this is the last day to submit for Stamping Royalty?  Well, even though I knew of the deadline for weeks and weeks, I only started yesterday.....and I only managed to make one card!  Whoops, I guess I missed the opportunity for a shot at it.  I'll send my one card along today, and cross my fingers!

Today there is a new challenge at the Runway Inspired Challenge!  Check out this fun look for McQ, by Alexander McQueen:

Woah, that hair is a little nuts, isn't it?

I love the burst of blooms with the simple black belt, so I tried to recreate that on my card:

My fun flower stamp is from Purple Onion Designs, who happens to be our sponsor for this challenge!

So, get your butt over to the Runway Inspired Challenge, and also visit my fabulous DT:

CAS-ual Fridays 1-2-3

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is sponsored by Clear and Simple Stamps!  Some of the design team gals and I decided to play along....the challenge is:

Your card must include:
1. a background or pattern
2. an image, and
3. a sentiment...while still keeping it CAS

My card uses some of the great stamps from this month's CSS release:

My background uses hearts from the Baby Shower set, the umbrella is from Special Bundle Extras, and the sentiment is from Baby Sentiments.

I hope you decide to play along with CAS-ual Fridays this week, for your chance at the awesome prize from Clear and Simple Stamps!

brighten my day

Remember this fun set from SP and Company?

What I love about this set is that you are not limited to masculine cards.   In addition to the "Happy Birthday" in a wonderful large font, you have all of those sweet questions:

The wrinkliness of the ribbon in the first picture is killing me. I think I'll have to go back and re-do the ribbon!  Do any of you get that particular with your cards?

Above the ribbon is a strip of glitter- which gives me 1. yellow, 2. glitter, 3. flowers- perfect for the tic tac toe challenge this week at Our Creative Corner!  Since I resigned from the team, I have not had an opportunity to play along...but I'm so glad that I can this week!  :)

Clear and Simple Stamps - March Group Post

Today is group post day at Clear and Simple Stamps, and this month the DT went to work making projects using orange!  CSS has a great orange called Orange You Fabulous, which I used on my favor box below:

This box would be great as a party favor, or to give to a friend who might be in the need for some chocolate!

Here's what I used:
Party Favor 4 Die
Fence Die cut (with corresponding stamp)
Baby Sentiments (butterfly)
Special Bundle Extras ("enjoy" sentiment)

MTE DT Thurs

Today is my DT day at My Thoughts Exactly, and I made the cutest little card using the new Easter Greetings sentiment set:

I don't often make cutesy cards, but I just HAD to do this:

Hah!  (I had a hard time choosing between "Hangin' with my Peeps" and "for Peep's sake!"  lol). I ordered the background stamp with the GC I got for winning the Hero Arts challenge last month- I can't wait to ink up the other goodies I got!

I wanted the peeps to look as real as possible, so I covered them in a fine (but not super-fine) clear glitter.  I think it definitely makes them appear sugary:

Well, that's all I have for today! Hop over to see what Lenae and Ashley posted with MTE :)

update: Some of you asked me about the peeps- I used my electronic die cutter!

CASE Study

Did you see? Did you see? Did you see??????

Laura is the muse at CASE Study this month!

I knew I had to play along, especially once I saw what card of hers they chose (it's a fave):

Lovely, clean and colorful!

Here's my take:
