2S4Y Christmas

Happy Saturday! I'm looking forward to a short work week, then heading out to NJ to spend Thanksgiving with my in-laws! Today's card was inspired by the above 2S4Y sketch:

Although tough to see, the horizontal stripes are silver thread wrapped around the front panel. If I were to do this card again, I would definitely use a lime green ribbon (instead of the white) to match the rhinestone!

Embellish Bags

Today I have a project to share for Embellish Magazine's bag challenge. After seeing the above photos, I thought the colors would be just perfect for a birthday bag. I got the plain white bag from the craft store for like 50 cents. Score! I was hoping to make a coordinating gift tag, but got too sleepy last night to get around to it. Oh well!

Cutesy Christmas

Good morning! I'm back again today with yet another Christmas card. My inspiration comes from this week's Off the Wall Craftiness challenge. Check out the gorgeous photos above! I think the kissing birds are adorable, so I used that as a jumping off point for my card.

I don't often make cutesy cards, but I really love how this one came out. The birds are die cut, the "stitching" was drawn in, the mistletoe was hand cut, and I used embroidery floss for the bow and the birds' legs. I'm also submitting this card for Caardvark's current challenge. Have a great day!

One last card for today...

Sorry for all the posts! I'm just trying to squeeze them in while I have the time. This is yet another card for Caardvark's holiday die cut challenge.

The "merry" letters below are die cut from red cardstock, and I printed "Christmas" onto vellum. I've found that the best adhesive for vellum isn't to use tape/glue, but to find some other way to adhere it. For this card, I used silver eyelets. At the bottom, I layered and wrapped silver and red thread. Thanks for checking it out!

Reindeer!

Here are 2 very similar cards that I made for the Caardvarks holiday die cut challenge. The reindeer silhouettes are cut from black paper, so the white is actually the negative image. I sewed around to create a border, then added a small red rhinestone nose. Here they are!

Holiday Joy

This was a really fun sketch to work with from Mojo Monday. I die cut the Christmas ornament and used embroidery floss for the 3 little stitches on each side. I love the color combo and how this card turned out. Since it is a holiday card using a die cut, I'm also submitting it to Caardvarks. :)

OLW Colour Me Bad

Hi! Back again with a card for this week's One Layer Wednesday. Have I told you enough how hard these are for me? Since all of the decoration is on one slice of cardstock (haha, my HS math teacher always said "slice of paper"), there is a lot of pressure to stamp correctly the first time around! The challenge this time was to use 5 ink colors on a card- and black doesn't count towards the 5! Here I have pink, purple, blue, mossy green, and a bit of red:
