a non-Halloween card (with Halloween stamps)

I love it when stamps can do double duty, and my favorite set from the most recent My Thoughts Exactly release, Fright Night Friends, is more versatile than it might seem! I love the cute crescent moon and stars, so I made a simple and whimsical little card to celebrate the birth of a new baby:

Although it might seem random, I spent a lot of time with the placement of those stars.  I wanted to create movement (cue the Moxie Fab challenge!) by staggering the heights of the stars on the card, as well as their size and whether or not each one was going to be popped up on foam adhesive.

The little lines and bows were hand-drawn (with a lot of help from my ruler!  No way was I going to wing that one....)

  1. Great card! Love the piecing and the popped out stars. Just perfect!

  2. Beautiful card! Love the design and the colors!

  3. I love this, often we do not see the potential until we have an idea and see what our stamps can really pull off. :) I also love the string with the knots! Inspiration!

  4. Jen, this is so sweet! I would have never known it was a Halloween set! I love the placement of the stars...it really looks effortless, and I thought it was a stamp you used! How did I not know you were on their DT?!

  5. LOVE this card, Jen! It's perfect. I love the paper pieced moon and stars and the color combo!

  6. I HAVE to make a baby card and am always at a loss, but you've just fed my mojo! Beautiful JEN!
