Sweet Stamp Shop Guest!!

Hey there!  I'm so happy that Alyssa asked me to guest design for her first release as an illustrator with Sweet Stamp Shop!

Today is release day, and I'm working with the new set Yummy Love - I love how cute the little fruit guys are!

For this card, I colored the fruit with Copics and cut them out- I contemplated putting them in a fruit basket or in a bowl, but instead I hand-cut a little shopping cart for them!  Since the card was turning out so cute and whimsical, I drew an intentionally wiggly line with a white pen.  I have to be honest- I kind of wish I took out the ruler and made them straight, but I'm proud of myself for trying something new! hehe.

For this card, I used some fun (and trendy) gold paper, along with that great wood & dot pattern!

Make sure you visit the Sweet Stamp Shop blog for more details on this release, and you'll also find a coupon code for 20% off of the new product!

urska-ustvarja said...
I've taken one class already and it was very interesting and I got TONS of new idea and inspiration.
I can't wait to see what you've came up with this time. I send around 20 Christmas cards every year and of course they are handmade. I also make cards for my mom and mother in law to send it to their friends and family. It is so exciting to receive such a handmade card... :)

Congrats!  Please send me an email (ourchangeofart@gmail.com) ASAP so that they can get you set up for class!

Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop

(hopefully you hopped on over here from Jessica Witty's blog!)

Wow.  I think this might be the largest blog hop in paper crafting history!  And for good reason too- I'm sure that if you are here, you have already heard that our beloved Cath Edvalson is leaving the Moxie Fab World.
I'm not one for long and mushy posts, but I just have to take a bit of time to share some thoughts.  When I first started paper crafting, I didn't even know that it had such a huge online presence.  I stumbled upon the Moxie Fab World (who even knows how!), and I was instantly hooked!  The term "moxie fab," which at first seemed strange to me, quickly became its own entity in my mind!  "Moxie Fab" not only meant that something fabulous had moxie, but it was also synonymous with inspiration, fun, love, support, and more.

A HUGE moment for me was when I saw a link to my blog on the (what I think was the first) "Out and About in the Moxie Fab World" post.  "You mean that THE Cath went to my blog?!?!?"  I was thrilled!  Cath always had a way of making everybody feel welcomed and special in the community that she built.

Cath, I wish you the best of luck in everything that you do! You are truly and inspiration and will be missed!  I hope to meet you in person some time soon- I don't live too far away!

Your next stop in the hop is Jennifer. Have fun!

Woohoo, we're rockin' a new Runway Inspired Challenge today!

source: style.com

I just adore today's look (don't I always? hehe).  Floral up top, and stripes down below- so that's what I went with for my card:

I embossed the poinsettia in gold onto vellum, then colored the backside of the vellum with markers. To adhere to the card, I wrapped the top and side of the flower around the white cardstock, and taped it on the back.  There is also a little square of foam adhesive behind the center of the poinsettia, because the black coloring was dark enough to hide it.

I can't wait 'til you see what the rest of the DT made...they'll knock your socks off!  Check them out, then go head over to the RIC blog to play along!
