Flashback!

Scrapbook Trends is having a challenge to show a favorite technique on any project. I just love making projects with dimension and 3D elements. My favorite application of this technique is the paper "cake" I made for my cousin's birthday (each "layer" is a box for goodies!). I worked so hard to get each element just the way I wanted it, from the birthday sentiment to the dimensional paper flower on top! Here are some pics of the final project:

ColourQ and Paintings!

I'm going to start off today with a card I made last night for my mom's friend, who is turning 50 at the end of the month. She loves rock and roll music, so I went with that for the theme of her card. The color inspiration came from this week's colourQ challenge #32.

I hope it's not a problem that my guava photographed a little pink! I used silver embroidery floss to sew on the guitar strings, and made all of the die cutting files myself on the computer. To make the inside a little more interesting, I also die cut a guitar head:

Fun, huh?

In addition to card making, I do numerous other crafty things including painting. This afternoon I added some paintings to my etsy shop. Click on the photos for the links to purchase a print!

Click above for the listing of that last print, or go here to purchase the original.

Mojo Monday 137

Today's card was a quickie. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday, and came up with this card:

I think the part that took the most time was taking the silly photos of myself, but that even only took a few minutes. Also, the font that was used for the sentiment is one I made from my handwriting!

Two more cards today!

This first card I did a few days ago. I stamped the images onto patterned paper, then embossed with white powder before cutting them out.

This afternoon I tried something I've been meaning to do for a week or so. I machine stitched the lines onto the paper, and hand wrote the sentiment. I wish I had written it up higher on the card- it really doesn't make sense there at the bottom, huh? If I have time tomorrow I might try to redo this card.

2 Birthday Cards

Always in need of birthday cards, I made 2 more that are very similar (well, pretty much the same!) to cards I made a few months ago. It's always nice to revisit and be inspired by old successful projects when you hit a creativity block!

CPS 165- Thanks!!

This afternoon I made a new card for the CPS sketch. This week's design is very versatile! I might need to try another card with the same layout, to see how it can be varied.

2S4Y Kazan's 51

Okay this is it- the last Mother's Day card. And this one is actually for my mom. The layout is from 2S4Y, and since the sketch was simple, I decided to keep my card really simple.
