no sentiment?

Hey there! I'm just popping in to share a card I made, inspired by the always fab Kristina Werner. (see explanation here)

Yesterday she posted card #2 of her holiday card series. Here it is:

Cute! I love her signature use of white gel pen in this card, and the circular focal point. I decided to keep those elements, yet CAS-ify the layout and color scheme. I also omitted the sentiment (I don't often do that!). I made the tree by masking a triangular shape and layering 2 background stamps on top of eachother.

See that pearl? Because of that, my card is headed for SSS.

PS. If I ever go to France, I'm going here. (click on it...it's SO me!)

MTE Release Winner!

I'm back with the winner of the $5 Gift Card to My Thoughts Exactly stamps. I used random.org to find the winner (after taking out the DT comments, of course), and here's the result:

Love the witch card, a perfect Halloween card!

Sue, Alyssa from MTE will be contacting you about your prize. Thanks to everyone who commented! I loved reading about your favorite Halloween costumes. Here are some of the ones that made me laugh:

Kasi was a luchador
Sav was a lollipop girl
Jen W was a Rubick's cube

Awesome!

SP and Co- Merry Christmas

Do you guys know about Kristina's Holiday Card Series? Last year, I had so much fun checking out her amazing cards and videos, and she's back at it again! Yesterday was day #1 of 25, and I decided to issue myself a challenge:

CASE each one of her holiday cards.

I have A LOT of Christmas cards to make this year, and I need to get started! I hope I stick with it, although who knows- I tend to start projects and never see them through to the end.....so please with me luck!

Here's her first beauty: (on her blog here)

And here is my card, using SP and Co's Bold Holiday Sentiments and Ornamental Trees.

Hopefully I'll be back soon with a CASE of her card #2!

(and don't forget to check out the rest of SP and Co's DT Wed!)

Wplus9-stravaganza!

Some of the gals from Wplus9 are hosting challenges on their blogs, during the current release. I decided to play along!

--------------------
"The Elephant in the Room"

There's no missing this card. A bright, fuchsia, fuzzy elephant with argyle ribbon. This one is for Kerrianne's challenge. I really fought with the flocking this morning- it took me forever to get an image that was acceptable. I was worried I was going to inhale those little fuzzy bits- they were everywhere! In the end, it finally worked. Phew!

---------------
"You = Amazing"

This one is for the color challenge hosted by Jinny. Such a soothing color palette, don't you think? I made some ribbon loops, so this one is also headed for CAS-ual Fridays.

------------------------
"Halloween Party"

This one is my fave- not only because it is kinda creepy, but because I used an unexpected set- Le Cirque. You wouldn't think that such a cute and fun set could be good for Halloween, but it totally works. This one is for Lea's Halloween challenge.

Thanks for visiting!

{'tis the season}

I wish I had more time to craft yesterday, although I still had an awesome day. I made this one last night, for WCMD challenges at SRM Stickers and Lawnscaping.

Black, white and red. Super duper simple. Just the way I like it.

colourQ 104

This week's theme at colourQ not only includes the colors above, but to CASE a past Queen. I chose the card below by Rosemary, winner of colourQ 68.
...and here's my take:

Short post today....bye!

My Thoughts Exactly October Release

My Thoughts Exactly Halloween Stamp Release

I'm so excited to share this month's My Thoughts Exactly release! There are 2 Halloween stamp sets out today, and as always, there are so many awesome sentiment combinations.

My first card uses stamps from "Fright Night Phrases."

I die cut a piece of balsa wood, and stamped onto it before adhering it to the top panel. I also die cut the witch to reveal the orangey-yellow paper below. Check it out:

Fun sentiment, huh?

I used stamps from the "Ghostly Greetings" set to make my other 2 cards.

The cauldron is embossed in white, and I was so excited to stamp it onto the black doily! I thought it was cute and a tad spooky at the same time! (btw, it's not a real doily...I die cut it)
I love the good witch/bad witch sentiment too! There is a question mark in the set, although I didn't use it since I already had centered the stamp on the orange cardstock. I didn't want to throw off the balance!

So glad you were able to stop by. Here's the lineup for the hop, so you can visit everyone and see their amazing projects!

GIVEAWAY

In addition to the chance to win a free stamp set, Alyssa has given each DT member a $5 gift card to give away. Each set retails for only $15 (including shipping!), so if you win, it'll drop to 10 bucks. :)

For a chance to win, leave a comment on this post! If you'd like, answer this question:

What was your favorite Halloween costume?

I get dressed up every year, and my favorite costumes were actually the ones I made myself in college and as an adult. Some highlights: Dana from Ghostbusters, but when she was possessed by Zuul; Leela from Futurama, Slash from Guns N Roses (I have a realllly funny pic of me in that costume), Peg Bundy. I still need to come up with a costume for this year....
