OCC Oh the Flowers

Good morning, and Happy Saturday! Today I'm here with the next fun challenge at Our Creative Corner. Our hostess, Kristin, is bringing us some more lovely inspiration from Copenhagen:

The only catch is that you CANNOT include any flowers on your project.

I made a simple and sweet card, drawing my colors from the photo collage above. I also embossed the pink strip with that embossing folder that looks like sticks. Hopefully you can see the texture in my photos. That folder reminded me of the stems of flowers.

The white piece on the bottom with the label shape is a scrap from when I needed a die cut label. I always save my scraps. Actually, now that I think of it, that bird (which I popped up with foam tape) is also a scrap! It's from this card, and apparently has been sitting on my craft table since May!
(layout from this week's CPS)

I sure hope you join us for our challenge this week at Our Creative Corner!

  1. Another card true to form! I LOVE this card! Love how you used the negative space for the bottom of the card and the positive for the bird. It's wonderful! Great job!

  2. A gorgeous creation Jen ... love the boldness of each of the elements, and the clean and crisp feel to the card. Wow ... these were scraps? Fabulous creativity!!! Love the bird ....

  3. So crisp and clean! Love that you were able to use the negative space from a previous die... terrific idea!

  4. Jen this is stunning! Such a clean and modern design. I love it! I really like how you showcased the sentiment , too. Have a great day! :)

  5. Don't you just love using up scraps? I enjoyed your color combination - who doesn't love kraft? I'm excited we're on the OCC team together!

  6. Super cute Jen, love how you used the die cut negative!! So COOL!!!

  7. Such a sweetly simple card, Jen, and just perfect for this challenge. I really like the colors you matched up and the way your bird just pops off the page!

Hope you are having a great weekend.

  8. what a gorgeous card! and I too keep my negatives/positives from die cuts. Because you never know when you will need one! Love the dry embossed stems on the pink piece. Very clever and creative! glad you are staying on for another 6 months. I really love working with you!

  9. I love your card, Jen! What great uses of scraps. I have a ton of scraps and I never use them, LOL. Your bird and frame are so wonderful, and the pink embossed strip is perfect. Fabulous card!

  10. Love this card. So simple but so lovely.

  11. Wonderfully clean and graphic! Love that bird. :) ANd I believe I have that sentiment stamp. It's from the Mike's dollar bin!

    hugs and kisses from germany,
    silvi xoxo
