YCU Blog Hop

Good morning! Today is the 2nd Young Crafters Unite blog hop! You likely got here from Tania, but you can always go back to the YCU blog to start from the beginning. The hop officially begins at noon CST, so you might want to wait until then to hop through. Make sure to comment along the way, for a chance to win some great prizes (details here)

This time, the theme is "Masculine," and I'm sharing a manly Christmas card. (haha...can a Christmas card really be manly?)

Last weekend I picked up this cool wood paper, and I tried die cutting it. Sadly, it didn't really work, but I was pleased to see that it debossed the wood instead. Even cooler than if it cut all the way through!

I've had those acrylic letters in my stash for about a year, and I was happy to finally use them. (I hope the card is still masculine even though it has stitching. I figure the wood and twine make up for that....)

Now I must send you on your way....Bee is up next!

  2. Love the debossed look on that ornament, especially paired with those clear letters.

I've had pretty good luck die cutting the thinnest wood paper they sell at Ink About it -- it can even be embossed. I haven't done as much with the heavier stuff, except make album covers and break Martha Stewart punches.
