Watercolor Feather

I've got the Sunday blues...I love going to work, but I have some busy weeks ahead- a few concerts, an observation, and lots of lesson planning to do.  Luckily, Dave and I have had a great weekend, and next weekend will be even better! (Free comic book day, Star Wars Day, Cinco de Mayo, Iron Man 3, and a crafty get-together with the gals)

Today I watercolored a feather for the Moxie Fab "Wonder of Watercolor" challenge.  I started by lightly drawing the shape onto smooth bristol (my fave), then adding the paint.  Once it was dry, I sketched the feather with a Faber Castell fine-tipped pen. (Would you guys want to see a video of my watercolor process? I could probably put a tutorial together next time I paint on one of my cards)

When I get the chance, I'll be sending this card to a friend of mine who said she wants one of my paintings...do you know who you are?! :)

  1. Is it me? Is the painting for me? Cuz I luv it and I'd love to see a tutorial! Can't wait to see Ironman 3, too.

  2. This is awesome, the design, the feather, the water colors, all of it! And I would definitely like to see how you do it. I am terrible at water coloring, so a tutorial would be great!
My, I wish I was the recipient, I would frame it, just like Wida did :)
