the strangest (yet most fun!) video ever :)

So, the other day I had this idea....what if I made a card video, but somehow had Dave (my husband) involved?  Not sure how, but I convinced him to join me in the most recent Papertrey Ink challenge!

We filmed last Sunday, but had MANY technical issues, and what I present to you is by no means a polished and/or professional video.  But, it sure was fun to make!  Dave even agreed to do it again sometime, if the response is positive.

And if there is a next time, I promise we will try our best to work out the kinks! (shaky cameras, poor lighting, quiet voices, cameras turning off randomly, video way to long, etc.)  Well, enough gabbing...on with the show! :)

(view below, or in HD on YouTube)

Here's a closer look at our finished cards:

We take no offense if you didn't watch the whole video- we understand it was too long! lol.  Thanks for humoring us, and of course for stopping by!

  1. Oh my gosh - you two are too cute for words! I loved hearing your banter and can't believe that even after your woke your hubby up from his nap that he would actually be such a good sport!! You've got a good one there, sistah - I'd hang on to him! My hubby will hang out in my craft room a bit, if I listen to him talk about his hole-by-hole golf game. But there's no way in h-e-double-toothpicks that I could get him to stamp with me. Bravo to both of you!! Please do more! LOL

  2. I think you and your husband is a great team and I actually like his card better eventhough yours are nice too. I would never get my husband to do something like this. But once he made a pottery thing from my mum that looks really good!

  3. This was such an entertaining video! I am impressed by your husband's skills, the ink blending has a cool artistic look, and he stamped very well! I would have stamped those buildings out of line. It's a beautiful card.
Your card is gorgeous -as usual :)
It was fun watching you decide where to put the sequins :D

  6. I love this video so much Jenn! Even without editing/camera issues, it was truly so much fun to watch. If you can, try to do it again. Both cards turned out so pretty. And the juxtaposition between the two videos was perfect. Thanks for the inspiration.

  9. Okay...let's give Hubby Dave a BIG KUDOs for a card that is FABULOUS!(no I'm not blowing smoke guy!)
(and also to Jennifer for allowing a man to work in her room of stash!)

LOL I loved listening to Dave choose his products (don't worry dude...that ATG gun intimidates even your more experienced crafters when they first see it!
(loved the apology to Mannie for not knowing his owner's name!)
Would love to see you guys do another! (and yeah...we are counting on it! LOL)

  14. You two are SO fun to watch! Dave, your inking and use of colors are superb (You are super nice BTW) ! And Jen, your card is gorgeous (as always)! Hope to see more of your videos together! PS: my hubby had a hard time coming up with KW's name when he was grilled by Cristina and Laura last October. So Dave is not alone! I've got to get Dr. John to watch these types of videos more!

  24. Really fun. You have lots of complicity and that's great in a couple. Your husband is very talented and CAS (runs in the family?). Please do some more episodes :).
When I started making cards, my husband made two "cards" for me using junk mail and collage... he even rounded one of the corners in one card and hand wrote a sentiment on the other one. It wasn't exactly the same kind of collaboration, but I laughed a lot and still have them :).

  25. Both cards are fabulous. I think it is so cool that your dh would do this with you. My husband would NEVER do this, let alone attempt to make a card. I want to see more of these!

  26. My husband wouldn't do that either, especially not after being woken up from a nap!!! You've got a keeper there (but you probably know that already)! Both cards are great and it was fun to see the process and hear you chat!

  28. This was such a fun video to watch. Dave is a good sport and did a good job on his card. I loved the sentiment and background. Your card is so pretty and artsy with the color and blank and white flower. Great idea!

  29. How sweet. You are a lucky girl. Wild horses couldn't drag my husband into my craft room. Seriously -- he stands in the door and calls to me. But actually, that's OK -- I think it's good for us to have things of our own. We don't have to do everything together.

  30. Dave is my new favorite card maker! Great job!
