One more for tonight....

You can probably imagine my excitement when I saw that the challenge at the Lawnscaping blog was CAS!

I dusted off the ol' Lawn Fawn chandelier, and used 3 of them as the focus of my card. I LOVE to use foam tape to pop up an element in my cards, so I did that with the sentiment:

Goodnight!

Hmmm

Hmm....this one has me scratching my head. It almost looks as though I didn't even make it!

I don't know when I bought this paper, why I have it in my stash, or what compelled me to use it on this week's Mojo Monday challenge.

(by the way, I love using the SP and Co sentiments from this set!)

The card's okay and all....but it just doesn't seem right to me for some reason. The colors? The loopy clouds? The cutesy bird? I'm stumped!

Above is the inspiration for this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner. Our hostess,the lovely Lori, wants you to choose 2 elements from the cover of In Stitches to incorporate into your project.

I knew right away that I wanted a strip of fabric along the left-hand side of the card. I chose a fun print from my stash, and sewed it on with a zigzag stitch, like on the book cover! Next I saw the cute pillow on the couch in the pic. I used the same repeated circles on my card, and voila- an inspired project!

For today's card, I stamped it with watermark ink onto my die-cut butterflies. I love the subtle, yet beautiful look!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

I know....I said I wasn't going to post as frequently, and then all of a sudden this week I have so many!! Most of them are prescheduled DT posts, plus this was the first week of classes so things aren't that crazy....yet.

Here's a (last minute!) entry for OTWC- see inspiration pic above. Still trying to figure out how to photograph white on white! I thought putting a background in would help, but it didn't, haha. I keep seeing weird grey blotches everywhere. Maybe it's just my computer?

For this card, I committed the ultimate fashion sin- blue with brown with black:

Inspiration Challenge

I think I just discovered my new favorite thing. Kraft cardstock + white embossing powder + colored pencils!

I made this card for Lily Pad Card's Inspiration Challenge. I was inspired by this AMAZING card. I just love how the reds and white popped on the kraft. I don't have distress inks (which were used in the video at LilyPad), so I used colored pencils.

I did hit one snag along the way- my sloppy coloring got all over the bright white embossing, which dulled it quite a bit. I tried rubbing the color off, erasing it off, using a Q-tip with water (carefully!), and scraping at it with an X-acto knife. The knife worked the best, until I chipped off a section of the embossing.

Does anyone have tips for getting the stray colored pencil off of the embossing powder? I'd love to try this technique again soon!
